LAPS - Licensing and Permits
LAPS Main Menu
Licensing and Permits provides any agency with the ability to track issued licenses and permits for specific items as: Buildings, Bicycles, Firearms, Controlled Burnings Taxicabs and Mobile Homes; generic modules are also included for tracking issuance of licenses and permits for such other items as may be needed. An additional Miscellaneous Permits module offers the ability to enter permits for address-validated structures which do not fit the other categories.
BUILDING INFORMATION
Captures data on buildings, prior to issuance of Building Permits. This file is shared with the Building Preplan file used in A-CAD and FIRES, but the information entered in this module is an abbreviated version of that entered in Preplan.
BUILDING PERMITS
Permits are issued for buildings defined either in the above module or in Preplan. This file is also shared with the Building Permits file in A-CAD and FIRES.
BICYCLE LICENSES
Licenses are issued for bicycles and descriptive information is recorded. Licensed bicycles are cross-referenced by CAPS Property, Pawn and Evidence modules.
FIREARMS
A series of modules provide the means for registration of firearms for personal use, for permit to carry or permit for other use of the firearm and for firearm dealer information. Registered firearms are cross-referenced by CAPS Property, Pawn and Evidence modules. FIREARM REGISTRATION records a description of the weapon; the Personal Information portion of the Registration module offers the operator the opportunity to have the system perform a criminal background check, accessing other CISCO files (if present in your installation). FIREARM PERMIT INFORMATION issues permits, specifies permit limitations and tracks expiration dates. FIREARM DEALER INFORMATION carries dealer identification, including name, address, contact, permit number and expiration date, weapon types sold.
OTHER LICENSES
provides a means of issuing licenses for items other than those specifically offered. Fees are recorded and expiration dates tracked.
OTHER PERMITS
provides a means of issuing permits for items other than those specifically offered. Fees are recorded and expiration dates tracked.
BURN PERMITS
are issued to individuals for residential burning. BURN TRANSACTIONS record permit usage.
TAXICAB PERMITS
capture data for taxi drivers, record fees and track expiration dates.
MOBILE HOME PERMITS
allows permit issuance for address-validated mobile homes.
MISCELLANEOUS PERMITS
allows permit issuance for address-validated structures/elements which do not fit the other categories. For example, issuance of permit for installation of television cable on a pole.
